Satlantic Radiometer Time Series

Data files for the Satlantic Radiometers are described here.

Revision History

  1. 201102XX: Beta product released

Formats

This data is available in a binary .raw format. Content descriptions and example files are provided below. A new file is started at the start of each day or when the driver is restarted (this should account for configuration changes, site changes, etc).

RAW

This format corresponds to the data files produced by the Satlantic data acquisition software. This file format, together with associated calibration files, can be interpreted by Satlantic post-processing software (e.g., SatCon, ProSoft). This format is further described in the manufacturer's documentation.

This RAW format file is produced using a combination of data output from the radiometer and from the co-located SeaBird CTD's pressure sensor.

Calibration Files: To interpret the data using Satlantic post-processing SatCon or SatPro software, a number of instrument specific calibration files are required.

  • The calibration files (.sip) for each radiometer are available at their respective documentation pages - be careful to use the most recent file preceding the date of the data being examined.
  • The calibration to interpret the pressure data is MPR001.cal. This instrument file was custom-made by NEPTUNE Canada. This file is particularly important when using Profiler mode in the ProSoft software.
