SeaTube Help

What's SeaTube?

SeaTube (a.k.a. Dive Viewer) is a video player that lets you watch, search and comment on NEPTUNE Canada deep-sea videos. SeaTube was originally developed to help you watch ROPOS dive videos recorded during our 2009 installation cruise. In the future, you'll also be able to watch recorded videos from our seafloor video cameras and many other sources.

How to Use SeaTube

  1. Log in - You need to log in to use SeaTube. If you haven't registered, it's easy to create a new account.
  2. Open SeaTube
  3. Choose a Video - Click Select a Dive and choose a video from the list. Note: if your Internet connection is slow, it may take some moments for the dive list to appear.
  4. Play the Video - After the video loads (this may take a minute), use the video controls to play, pause and expand the video.
  5. Explore the Video - You can move around in time by clicking on comments or the ROPOS tracklines in the map. The Profile tab shows a time-depth graph of the dive; the Detail tab shows additional information about the dive.
  6. Search - Type a word in the box and click Find to search through the comments for the current video. You can search all videos by clicking the Search All Dive Videos button.
