Discussion of Existing Experiments

• Hydrophones and current meters @seismometer locations as per original plan.

• NW BPR will be run autonomously, but data will be downloaded this summer, the cable is hardwired contiguous with the a Seaproof can that is the most likely suspect to have failed, the only way to replace this can is to recover the 12.5 km cable. However, if the cable recovery is too onerous for the maintenance cruise, the failure should be confirmed by tests if possible. We note that the south BPR is also losing connection with the JB on occasion and this may be a systematic failure.

• NE BPR will be deployed, thus we will still have 3-BPR array.

• Accurate CTD measurements either with ROV or as shipborne rosette casts during maintenance cruise for temperature calibration of all BPRs.

• Sort out Seabird microcat data from CORK 1026B regarding hi temporal resolution T and Cond measurements affecting derived salinity measurements.

Interactions/conflicts between instruments

No conflicts at this point. We will look for conflicts between seismometers and Nortek Aquadopp acoustics when deployed this summer.

• Bottom Boudary layer measurement with pre-existing 16 channel thermistor chain. Need to get prices for component temp sensors, and more details. Could be hooked up for real time power and comms to the CORK and scientific design such as the spacing of the sensors.
